The Stëmm vun der Strooss is currently faced with a
high demand for sleeping bags. To meet this demand, it has set aside a budget
of €20,000 to buy 500 sleeping bags.
The organisation was delighted to receive generous
support from the Rotary Club Horizon Luxembourg, which made a donation of
€3,000 towards this solidarity mission. The club's social service committee has
an annual budget, which comes from Rotarians' membership fees and is intended
to support charitable projects.
To honour this fine initiative, Alexandra Oxacelay,
head of the Stëmm, invited Georges Peiffer, Eric Osch and David Laborier,
members of the social action committee of the RC Luxembourg Horizon, to the
Saxophone. This is a safe resting area for people living on the street, located
at 24 rue de Hollerich. After the traditional photo session with the entire
Saxophone team, Alexandra Oxacelay introduced them to the centre and its
various activities.
